This morning, the politico blog was reporting that John Edwards would be suspending his campaign to care for his wife, who recently found out that the cancer she suffered in 2004 had resurfaced. At noon today though, Edwards announced that his campaign is going strong and that he will continue to actively campaign to seek the Democratic nomination for President of the United States.
It is important to take this opportunity to send our organizations best wishes to Elizabeth Edwards on a speedy recovery from her illness. I feel that support for a candidate aside, the Edwards family is going to be around for a while in our party and we hope that Elizabeth can be included in that.
So lesson for the wise: Edwards is still running, and the politico got it wrong.
